Introducing Learning Snapshots – Micro Learning

The learning world continues to see innovation and new ways to help learners acquire the skills, knowledge and capabilities needed to enhance their contribution within the organisation.

Microlearning is one such area that is currently experiencing considerable attention. Microlearning is a way of teaching and delivering content to learners in small, very specific, bite-sized chunks (often 5-10 mins long), that are designed to meet a specific learning outcome and that can be used for both formal and informal training. We call them Learning Snapshots and this type of delivery is ideal for a mobile or field based workforce.

Learning snapshots are also a powerful way to re-enforce learning, provide a quick method for updates and to introduce key concepts. They are ideal where you don’t want the learner to sit through an in depth course, but they need to know the basics.

Course Overview:

Having the confidence and the knowledge to communicate effectively with a person who has a disability is one of the most important and powerful things we can do to provide a great customer experience.

Many people are worried about causing offence or using the wrong words and methods of communication when they interact with someone who has a disability. Our Learning Snapshot allows you to quickly and easily appreciate the importance of getting your communication right.

The content of this Learning Snapshot has been developed by people who have real life experience of what it is like to live with a disability.

This Learning Snapshot will:

  • Show you how to tailor your communication when dealing with a person who has a disability
  • Explore some of the things you can do to enhance the customer experience for a person with a disability
  • Give you guidance on the correct words and terminology you should use when talking about disabilities or interacting with people who may have a disability.

The Learning Snapshot is designed to be a quick point of reference and is ideally suited to remote staff members, individuals who need to gain a quick overview of the topic or as a supporting resource alongside our other equality, diversity and inclusion modules.
